Summer Internship

Last Thursday I was offered an internship with Dow AgroSciences in Indianapolis. I’m so excited!

I only changed my major to Agricultural communication at the beginning of this year. I’ve already been networking and working hard to learn more about this great field.

Now, I have the opportunity to learn a great deal about Public Affairs. This is a career that I definitely have an interest in pursuing. There is a possibility to go this route with the Air Force and be a reserve member.

While my ultimate dream job isn’t related to PA, I’m really excited to get out of my comfort zone and learn a new field. Eventually, I think it would be amazing to be an editor/journalist for a horse publication.

While this internship doesn’t directly support that goal, it will give me a great insight into other areas of ag comm that interest me.

The timing and place couldn’t be more perfect. My sister will be traveling abroad this summer, therefore in need of someone to sublet her apartment. This works perfectly because she lives less than 20 miles from the Dow Ag Compound.

This internship is also a great opportunity to network with Dow Ag employees, and it could result in a future job.

I’m so glad that I’ve been fortunate enough to get this internship, and I will continue to tell you all about it as the summer passes. My official start date is May 12!
